Make or Save Money!

The links below are affiliate links. That means if you click on them and then sign up or buy something, I make money. This page is a work in progress -- check back occasionally to see what I've added!

  • S'More -- This app for your Android phone places ads on your "lock screen." In return, you receive 10 cents a day in credit redeemable for gift cards from Amazon.com, AMC movie theaters, Domino's Pizza, Starbucks, Applebee's, Best Buy, CVS Pharmacy, GameStop, Target or Google Play. Yes, I have redeemed the point and yes I have received the gift card credit. Ten cents a day may not seem like a lot, but that's $36 a year ... think of it as several pizzas, or three movie tickets, or several books, just for letting your phone lock screen show you ads. The link should automatically fill in my referral code. If it doesn't, that code is O6BTUG.
  • Ibotta is an app for Android or iOS phones that gives you "cash back" on purchases at boatloads of stores (I use it at my local Publix and Walmart, among others). When you're getting ready to shop, see what kind of rebates are available. Go shopping, take a photo of your receipt, scan bar codes, and a little bit later your account is credited. Once you have $20 or more you can take your cash via PayPal or Venmo or as a gift card for Amazon, Walmart, or other stores. I've redeemed my cash twice ($40+) with no problems.
  • YouGov is one of those "complete surveys to earn credits" outfits. Some of them are scams. YouGov isn't. I have successfully redeemed my credits for Amazon gift cards. Sometimes the surveys are about politics. Sometimes they're about your television viewing habits. Sometimes they are about products/services you may recognize. They take a few minutes to complete, they seem to come once or twice a week, and it takes a couple of months to earn a $15 gift card from Amazon or one of 22 other places.
